Badlands National Park (South Dakota)

Badlands National Park is remarkably easy to visit. Navigating through the park can be as easy as following the Badlands Loop Road and stopping wherever strikes your fancy. Armed with some key information beforehand, you can make a good visit to Badlands National Park into an amazing visit.

To make exploring the Badlands even easier, I also recommend that visitors try GuideAlong while visiting the park.

The Black Hills, Rushmore, Devils Tower & Badlands National Park Tour includes the Badlands Loop Road drive, and you’ll learn so much about the park and the landscape as you drive and stop to enjoy the overlooks.

While a scenic drive through the park is a great option, don’t miss the opportunity to explore the Badlands on foot. It’s home to one of my favorite hikes ever: Notch Trail.

30a (Florida)

Between the popular tourist destinations of Panama City and Destin, Florida, lies a stretch of Gulf Coast beach along scenic Highway 30A in Walton County, Florida. This area, known popularly as “30A,” features beautiful white sandy beaches, picture-perfect beach villages, rare coastal dune lakes, and some great dining options.

The beautiful white sugary beaches along 30A are not to be missed. So, pack your sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, and other beach day essentials and enjoy a weekend getaway or even a weeklong vacation in this wonderfully easy and relaxing place.

And even if lying on the beach is not among your favorite activities, there are tons of other things to do in 30A.

Hilton Head (South Carolina)

Another great option for a beach getaway is Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. We think Hilton Head Island is one of the best places in the South to have a relaxing weekend. Travel + Leisure named Hilton Head Island the BEST island in the continental United States for three consecutive years. I quite agree.

It also makes a lovely addition to a Southern road trip, and it’s one of our favorite romantic getaways in the South.

Grand Teton National Park (Wyoming)

Noted for its stunning beauty, the Teton Range of the Rockies draws millions of visitors each year to explore the national park that takes its name from the range’s tallest peak: Grand Teton.

Just a few miles south of the enormous Yellowstone National Park, it’s much smaller and easier to navigate than its more famous counterpart. It also has the benefit of being just a short drive from the lovely Jackson, Wyoming.

The scenic loop is pretty easy to do, especially if you pick up a map at a Visitor Center or purchase a Grand Teton audio tour from GuideAlong.

Honestly, I enjoy doing both. A physical map helps me stay oriented to our location and what’s ahead. And then the audio tour is like having an expert guide along with you in the car.

St. Augustine, Florida

St. Augustine, Florida, is the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in the U.S. It’s full of history, and it’s remarkably easy to explore on foot.

It’s a great destination for a short trip, like a weekend getaway. There are endless options for how to spend your time there. In fact, there are so many things to do in St. Augustine that you’ll have trouble narrowing it down to what you can reasonably manage to do in one weekend.
